This blog has been quiet for a while. But i am back to Africa for the third time, and intend to stay here several months. I am preparing to start my project Women of East Africa – long term project which will document faces of East African women. I hope to capture true portraits that will reflect the character and inner beauty, specially from women from rural areas. Its my first project and am excited and nervous.

From the first time i visited this magical continent full of contrasts i fell in love with people and have decided to test my self if i am able deliver within time portraits of interesting women i meet along the way.

When the men had been circumcised, they would paint their faces with white dots which symbolized their journey to manhood. I had seen a few young men with faces painted white on the way through Ngorongoro and Serengeti.
